LYFORD – A Rio Grande Valley community are rallying together to catch an alleged thief on the run.

Willacy County sheriff’s deputies say the citizens of Lyford helped point them in the right direction.

The city of Lyford may be without a police department, but the citizens are stepping up to help combat crime.

The sheriff’s office hopes the tight relationship between the sheriff’s department and the community continues.
