Missing Migrant Program Aids in Rescue of Man Smuggled into US
WESLACO – The Missing Migrant Program is being credited with helping rescue one immigrant.
The man was abandoned by his smugglers in Encino.
He said he was extremely exhausted and was unable to continue his journey.
The immigrant was able to tell his relatives of his location.
The relatives notified the Mexican Consulate; they, in turn, contacted the Rio Grande Valley Missing Migrant Program office.
Officials there, along with Border Patrol agents found the man earlier this week.
