WESLACO – Heavy rain continues to hit the Rio Grande Valley.

Cities in the Valley such as Weslaco, Donna and Edinburg have experienced flooding.

City officials are already taking precautions.

“Three-quarters of the state of Texas is already saturated with rain so the grounds are done. Everything now is going to flow. There is nowhere to absorb, it’s no longer a sponge,” says Saldana.

KRGV’s Trason Bragg spoke with Hidalgo County’s Emergency Management Coordinator, Ricardo Saldana, about how they are preparing.
