SANTA ROSA – A Rio Grande Valley school district is helping students who want to work in the tech field.

Santa Rosa ISD is offering lessons on coding.

KRGV’s Valerie Gonzalez spoke with Monica Cano, the Technology Application Teacher at Jo Nelson Middle School who will be teaching the course.

She explains the students will learn basic coding, HTML and CSS, as well as computer literacy, keyboarding and digital citizenship.

“Another thing that we're going to be doing are mobile apps. So, maybe they can come up with their own applications and they can upload it onto the app store,” says Cano.

The class is open to elementary and middle school students.
