Hidalgo county Fire Marshal investigator John Franz, tells us there are things you should do when a storm rolls in.
“There's things you can do to protect your home. Bring electronics inside during a lightning storm, unplug any electronics you have so if there's a power surge that can help protect those devices but as far as preventing your house from being struck by lightning, it's just going to be a natural occurrence and unfortunate circumstance,” explains Franz.
Thursday’s fire followed another one that took place on Wednesday near Weslaco.
No injuries were reported in either fire.
