Sports Minute: Rangers finalize deals for 3B Frazier, reunion with Chirinos
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - The Texas Rangers have completed their reunion with catcher Robinson Chirinos and added third baseman Todd Frazier. The team formally announced the one-year deals Wednesday. Both also have club options for 2021. Left-handed pitchers Kyle Bird and Jeffrey Springs were designated for assignment to clear roster spots. Chirinos was with the Rangers from 2013 to 2018. He played last season in Houston, where he caught AL Cy Young winner Justin Verlander and runner-up Gerrit Cole. Frazier spent the last two seasons with the New York Mets. He has started 1,000 games at third base in his career, and was a two-time All-Star with Cincinnati.
