RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced on Friday that it will host a men’s basketball doubleheader featuring Texas at Bert Ogden Arena, and the only way to guarantee seats to the game is by purchasing UTRGV basketball season tickets, which are now on sale.

The doubleheader is on Nov. 21, as UTRGV hosts Western Illinois and then Texas faces Northern Arizona to open the Leon Black Classic. UTRGV then continues the Leon Black Classic against Northern Arizona on Nov. 22 at Bert Ogden Arena before traveling to Texas to complete the tournament on Nov. 26.

This is the first time Texas men’s basketball is playing in the Rio Grande Valley. UTRGV has brought Texas to the Valley twice in recent years, hosting the Longhorns in baseball this past April and women’s basketball in Dec. 2018. Both games were playing in front of sold-out crowds.

All three games at Bert Ogden Arena, as well as all other men’s and women’s basketball games hosted by UTRGV at the UTRGV Fieldhouse, Bert Ogden Arena and the South Padre Island Convention Centre, the latter of which serves as the host for the annual UTRGV South Padre Island Classic and Battle on the Beach, are included as part of season ticket packages.

Reserved season tickets in sections B, C and G of the UTRGV Fieldhouse, where most home games are scheduled to be played, cost $275 each. A limited number of courtside seats are available for $350 plus a $150 donation to the V Club per seat. General admission season tickets can be purchased for $150 each or as a family four pack for $400. Family four packs can also be purchased as reserved seats in sections A and H for $750 each.

Winter Texans looking to purchase reserved season tickets in sections A and H can do so for $200 each.

Additionally, fans can choose to purchase multi-sport passes that include season tickets to volleyball, basketball, and baseball for $260 for general admission and starting at $360 for reserved seating.
