The UTRGV men's soccer team is still seeking its first win of the regular season after losing its first three games. 

The Vaqueros managed to score their first goal of the season in their match last Thursday against Oral Roberts, and they hope that this new found confidence on offense can help the team this Friday against Incarnate Word.

UTRGV has beaten UIW eleven times with last year having to endure its sixth loss against the Cardinals.

Head Coach Bryheem Hancock mentioned that this matchup has become like a South Texas derby.

"We turn our focus to Friday playing a local team just a few hours up the road that every time they play us it means everything just like it does for us and it's almost like a derby," Coach Hancock said. "For us, we just want to be ready to match the energy cause it'll be Friday night there should be a good crowd and for us we expect to get three points."

UTRGV visits Incarnate Word this Friday with kickoff set for 6 p.m.
