DHS Requests Additional National Guard Troops
WESLACO – The Department of Homeland Security has requested another 1,000 Texas National Guard troops to assist Customs and Border Protection.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott approved the additional support, but the request still must go through The Pentagon.
There's no word how many of those troops will be sent to the Rio Grande Valley.
