Game Wardens investigate drowning of 74-year-old kiteboarder at South Padre Island
SOUTH PADRE ISLAND – Texas Game Wardens are investigating a drowning at South Padre Island. The victim was identified as a 74-year-old male kiteboarder.
CHANNEL 5 NEWS is told it happened around 1 p.m. Wednesday in a private area on the bayside near Beach Access 5.
The incident coming as more spring breakers make their way to the island.
A witness from out-of-town called first responders after another kite sailor had yelled out to “call 9-1-1.”
