La Joya ISD Police Investigating School Bus Crash Involving Border Patrol
PALMVIEW – Authorities are investigating an accident between a border patrol vehicle and a La Joya Independent School District school bus.
It happened on Friday around 7 a.m. near Military and Abram roads, south of Palmview.
La Joya ISD Police Chief Raul Gonzalez says the bus was rear-ended as the bus driver stopped to pick up students.
Gonzalez says seven students from JFK Elementary School were on the bus at the time.
The students and the bus driver were taken to the hospital as a precaution, but no serious injuries were reported at the scene.
The Border Patrol agent who was driving the vehicle was also taken to the hospital.
