McAllen Man Charged after Bank Robbery
MCALLEN – A 55-year-old man is charged for allegedly robbing a local bank.
The robbery happened Monday afternoon at the 1800 block of South 2nd Street in McAllen.
McAllen police say Joe Wayne Galipp approached the bank teller and demanded money.
Investigators say no weapon was displayed.
Galipp got away with an undisclosed amount of money.
He was arrested Monday evening and arraigned Wednesday.
Galipp charged with robbery, possession of controlled substance, evading arrest and resisting arrest.
His bond is set at more than $170,000.
