Students at Brownsville ISD Dealing with Changes in New School Year
BROWNSVILLE – Almost two weeks into the school year and some students at Brownsville Independent School District are still dealing with some changes.
Maria Crouch says her 8-year-old son started third grade at Perez Elementary less than a month ago.
She reassured him that things would be okay before his first day of school.
"I just told him, you know, things happen. You know, you have to understand that in life there's changes and you have to accept them," she says.
CHANNEL 5 NEWS spoke to Principal Michael Moreno at Perez Elementary.
He says a smooth transition for the students was a top priority.
"We created classes that had a mixture of kids from Perez Elementary and kids from our former campus so we're able to integrate them so they can start begin the bonding process," said Moreno.
