Valley Mother Relieved Daughter is Safe After El Paso Mass Shooting
WESLACO - A Valley mother is feeling more at ease now knowing that her baby girl is safe in El Paso.
Saturday when word of the mass shooting made its way around the country, she couldn't get a hold of her daughter or her child’s father.
Crystal Clayton couldn't help but think the worst.
News of the mass shooting hundreds of miles away sending her into a panic, turning minutes into hours.
"No parent should have to burry their child", says Clayton.
Clayton’s baby girl is visting her dad who is stationed in El Paso.
It was a busy saturday for mom. When she finally took a break to check her phone, she saw the news
"I saw all these feeds about a shooting in El Paso and just immediatly my heart sank".
She says she was about to get in the car and drive to El Paso hersellf, when she finally got the news she had hoped for.
