LA GRULLA – One person was arrested in the investigation into missing money from the city of La Grulla.

Velma Solis, 39, is charged with theft.

The Starr County Special Crimes Unit made the arrest.

The investigation began back in September when the mayor of La Grulla first reported the missing money.

In all, $3,000 in cash and $2,000 in checks was taken from the safe at city hall.
