BROWNSVILLE – Though temperatures are slightly warmer, pipes still need weather protection, according to the Brownsville Public Utilities Board.

Ryan Greenfeld, the communications and public relations manager for BPUB, says little things like wrapping pipes and setting faucets to drip can help to prevent larger problems.

“If the pipes do freeze and potentially break, it could be a big mess for homeowners. It could be a lot of water in the house,” he explains.

He adds it’s important to know where the shut off valve is located in case of a break.
