BROWNSVILLE – A Brownsville speech therapist awaits sentencing after being found guilty in a healthcare fraud scheme.

A U.S. District Judge says Georgia Phillips conspired with a biller to submit thousands of fraudulent claims for children’s therapy services to Texas Medicaid.

Phillips’ sentencing is set for June.

She faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
