DONNA – Camera technology is helping school administrators at Donna Independent School District. 

The director of transportation explains camera technology helps to see what happens on school bus routes.

Luis Solis says there are outside cameras on some buses that have a view of oncoming vehicle, as well as inside cameras for a view of the students aboard.

Solis says the cameras provide a video shot to police when something needs to be investigated.

KRGV’s Christian Von Preysing spoke with a local mother concerned for her daughter’s safety.

Esther Flores says her neighborhood has a lot of heavy traffic.

“They don’t respect the stop and there are a lot of accidents,” she says.

Flores says she warns her 13-year-old daughter to watch out for cars.
