HARLINGEN – A Harlingen woman is behind bars accused of posting intimate pictures of another person on social media without their permission.

Harlingen police took 23-year-old Amber Briana Olmeda into custody for revenge porn on Thursday.

Authorities said the victim first filed a complaint back in January. A judge then issued a warrant for Olmeda’s arrest after looking into the evidence.

In September of 2015, the Texas legislature made it officially illegal to post revenge porn.

Olmeda is charged with a misdemeanor which means she could spend up to a year in jail and be fined up to $4,000.
