HIDALGO – The holidays don’t have to end when the Christmas tree comes down. The city of Hidalgo comes together to light the way even after the holidays.

It’s hard work, but an entire city came together prepared. They’re getting ready for the City of Hidalgo’s Festival of Lights.

A total of five million lights guide a trolley to 500 light displays. Families can use their own transportation to still enjoy the view.

They’ll drive through toy land or out of this world and see superheroes. They’ll enjoy sounds and twinkling lights. Dancers are part of the festivities.

It’s Chidinma and Golden Olunkwa and their two twins first time seeing the Christmas lights.

“I really love the dance, and like the guy said the dances are from different states in Mexico, that was actually entertaining and enlightening,” they said.

Of course, don’t forget to take pictures with Santa Claus. And be sure to tell everyone, “Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.”
