FAIRFIELD – Texas Department of Public Safety issued a statewide Blue Alert for a slained trooper.

They are looking for a suspect in a gray Chevy Malibu with license plates JDN-4273.

According to ABC affiliate WFAA, the shooting happened around 4 p.m. in Fairfield, west of Waco.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5 feet 11 inches tall.

The identity of the trooper has not been released.

Call 911 if anyone sees a vehicle matching the description.
