MISSION – An Edinburg man was charged following an arrest that landed a Mission police officer in the hospital.

Juan Carranza was charged with unauthorized use of vehicle, resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance.

During his arrest, police said Carranza struggled with the officer which caused him to suffer minor injuries.

The officer was treated at Mission Regional Medical Center and later released.

Carranza’s bond was set at $30,000.
