Expert Warns about Dangerous Surf Currents due to Strong Winds
SOUTH PADRE ISLAND – Strong winds have dangerous surf conditions continue this week.
Even in shallow waters, a person can feel how strong the rip currents can be.
Experts are saying rip currents are not the only thing to be cautious of along the shorelines.
A current called a long shore current can be just as deadly.
Instead of the water pulling you out to sea, a long shore current will pull you up the beach line.
Sometimes taking a person a couple of miles north of where they initially started swimming.
