Flood Victims Seek Temporary Shelter at RGV Hotels

WESLACO – Several Rio Grande Valley hotels have reached capacity due to the high number flood victims seeking temporary shelter.

KRGV’s Sierra Pizarro spoke with the general manager of the Palm Aire Hotel in Weslaco where all 82 rooms were filled for two weeks straight.

“The Hidalgo Housing Authority came and booked a bunch of families in here,” says General Manager Ryan Meredith.

One guest who has been staying at the hotel with her son for a month says that it’s been tough. She explains how she had to cram everything into one room.
