Free Glucose Screenings / Exámenes de Glucosa Gratis
Walmart stores, South Texas Health Systems, and Dr. Monzer H. Yazji MC & Associates will provide free glucose screenings from Monday, March 26 to Sunday, April 8.
Dr. Monzer H. Yazji will be offering free screenings at his offices in McAllen and Edinburg. They'll be available weekdays from March 26 to April 6.
Edinburg: 502 South Closner | 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
McAllen: 1200 East Savannah Ste 19 | 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
South Texas Systems will be having screenings Monday through Thursday for the two weeks.
Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville offers free screenings and more. They're located at 100-A Alton Gloor Blvd and open Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can call (956) 350-7000 for more information.
IMPORTANT: If you're planning to get a free screening, it's recommended to fast. You should avoid eating after midnight the night (or at least two hours) before the screening. However, you can still get your blood sugar checked if you've already eaten.
