WESLACO – Hackers are using a small device called ‘WiFi Pineapple’ to access personal information.

We learned the device is designed to expose loopholes in network security and is easily accessible online.

It is disguised as a Wi-Fi network, which could automatically connect to the phone.

The president and founder of Code RGV, Drew Lentz, explains there’s no way of telling that it isn’t a secure connection.  

“I can see any passwords that you put in there. I can see any user-names that you put in there. I can see any credit card information that you put in there. Anything that you pass through, I can get a copy of because you're using my network,” says Lentz.
