Korean War Veteran to be Honored in Hometown
RIO GRANDE CITY – A Korean War veteran from Starr County whose remains were recently identified will be honored in his hometown.
Private First Class Herschel M. Riggs died when he was 18 years old in the Korean War.
Organizers are planning a service in Rio Grande City on May 24.
It will take place at the Kiosk and War Memorial in front of the county courthouse.
