Lanes reopen on US-77 following multi-vehicle crash near Sarita checkpoint
NEAR SARITA – Authorities responded to a multi-vehicle crash near the Javier Vega Jr. Checkpoint in Sarita.
Lanes along northbound US 77 in the area were reduced to one lane as several wreckers cleared the vehicles involved in the crash, according the Department of Public Safety. The highway has since reopened.
DPS says poor visibility was a contributing factor in the 10-vehicle crash Friday afternoon. Smoke from a controlled burn was taking place nearby.
CHANNEL 5 NEWS is told three people were transported to a Kingsville hospital with minor injuries.
