MCALLEN – Though the Rio Grande Valley has seen plenty of rain in the last couple of days, a local citrus grower is hopeful for even more.

McAllen grower Fred Karle says this amount of rain is not enough to make his crop a success.

He explains citrus crops need more rain than other crops.

“Citrus needs 60 inches of water a year,” he says.

KRGV’s Frank McCaffrey spoke with Karle about how the current weather conditions could affect his crops.
