NEAR EDINBURG – State officials announced the Lopez State Jail in Edinburg remains on lockdown nearly a week after a fight broke out.

Three inmates at the facility were sent to the hospital. One of the offenders is at a hospital in Galveston and the other two were returned to the facility after receiving treatment. 

A spokesperson for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice said several inmates got involved in an altercation last Tuesday.

The person currently being treated is in stable condition.
