‘I did scream a few times:’ Spectators witness launch of SpaceX’s biggest Starship rocket yet
Thousands of visitors packed Isla Blanca Park and the shoreline on Friday to watch SpaceX's 12th Starship flight test.
Cheers erupted across the park as the rocket shot into the sky. For many, it was their first time seeing a launch in person.
Immaculada del Castillo traveled from Spain just for the experience.

"It was very exciting. It gives a lot of happiness to this area, so it’s very exciting," del Castillo said. "I did scream a few times. 'Yay, I’m very very happy.’"
Jim and Janet Chambers made the trip from Oregon. They spent time at Boca Chica Beach and had watched the Starship being moved down the road in the days before the launch.
"We spent the day over there at Boca Chica Beach. We saw the Starship coming down the road. We've been here a couple of days watching it all," Janet Chambers said.
The couple said they were determined to see the rocket take off after the previous day's scrubbed launch.
"We actually got to experience it. It’s really fun to also watch it on YouTube… but it was really something seeing the power of that rocket going up," Jim Chambers said.
Del Castillo had a simple message for anyone thinking about making the trip.
"Anybody who can make it out here, just to do it," del Castillo said.
