PROGRESO – A man accused of injuring a Customs and Border Protection officer pleaded not guilty.

According to court documents, Henry Atkinson allegedly refused to remove his sunglasses, as per requested by the CBP officer.

When asked to step out of his vehicle, the driver’s side door opened, trapping the officer between the door and the frame of Atkinson’s vehicle.

Atkinson sped off, dragging the officer.

The officer received injuries to his arms and knees.

He pleaded not guilty to aggravated assault.
