MISSION – A Rio Grande Valley high school is addressing issues of rodents inside their campus.

Mission Consolidated Independent School District public relations director Craig Verley said mice were seen in the dining area at Mission High School.

Verley believes the reason the rodents got into the campus are due to ongoing nearby construction at the school. However, he said steps are in place to keep the mice out.

“Extermination efforts have been stepped up throughout the campus. In order to hopefully put an end to it as quickly as possible,” he said.

Verley said the mice were not in the food areas when spotted. He said the facilities are sanitized and are in good standing.

He explained the new additions to the school are expected to be complete by February.
