MISSION – A lockdown at Waitz Elementary School in Mission is over.

Mission CISD alerted parents on social media around 3:30 p.m.

The post says law enforcement is investigating reports of gunshots heard near the campus.

The Alton police chief told us a constable working traffic control in the area thought he heard gunshots.

Police said so far, nothing has been found.
