MISSION – Crews in Mission are using new equipment to clear up debris in the streets.

The city of Mission is still working to get rid of debris left over from June’s floods. They say the new machinery helps them save both cash and time.

“We have been picking up the brush a little bit faster, keeping the city a little bit more cleaner,” says Cesar Gutierrez, Sanitation Director, City of Mission. “The recent storms that we had, what we had to go do was clean the areas that we know the water does build up.”

The city used to take four trips a day to the landfill, now crews only take one trip per week.

KRGV’s Carolina Cruz explains the positive impact the new machinery has had on this process.
