Police: No credible threat identified following bomb threat at Mission High School
Classes are resuming at Mission High School after the campus was evacuated following a report of a possible bomb on campus, according to the Mission Police Department.
Police officers responded to the campus at around 10:49 a.m. Wednesday. All students and staff were relocated to the Tom Landry Stadium as local, state and federal agencies assisted with the investigation.
“At this time, officers have not located any credible threat, and there is no immediate danger to public safety,” a police spokesperson said in a statement issued at around 12:20 p.m. “Mission police will remain on site and continue to thoroughly monitor the situation to ensure the safety of students, staff, and the community.”
Students and staff were seen going back to the campus.
“Any individual found responsible for making a false bomb threat will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” police added.
