SOUTH PADRE ISLAND – In the past two days, more than 200 sea turtles were rescued.

Many were recovered from the Gulf. Currently, 15 sea turtles are recovering from shock from the cold at Sea Turtle, Inc.

The turtles are being treated in a heated garage.

Jeff George, the executive director at Sea Turtle, Inc., explained finding cold-stunned sea turtles is unusual this time of year, blaming the cold front.

Depending on the weather conditions in the next couple of days, the turtles will be released back into the Gulf.
