HARLINGEN – A neighborhood watch in Harlingen is proving to be effective 10 years after it was founded.

Police say they’ve managed to stop minor crimes by noticing patterns and irregularities around their neighborhood.

Most recently, a man was taken into custody after he broke into a Harlingen home and tried to take weapons. He was taken to city jail, where he awaits his arraignment.

KRGV’s Carolina Cruz spoke to the Harlingen Police Department to learn of their joint efforts.
