BROWNSVILLE – Brownsville Police Department are investigating how a man ended up dead in his own backyard.

Police spokesman JJ Trevino said 36-year-old Anthony Esquivel was found unresponsive at a home on the 100 block of San Diego Street Monday night.

Trevino said the man had an injury to his ear, but showed no other obvious signs of trauma.

An autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of death.
