Police: Investigation Reveals Brownsville Shooting was Accidental
BROWNSVILLE – The Brownsville Police Department says a shooting that left a person in critical condition was accidental.
On Monday, police issued a statement saying the Sunday, Jan. 28 incident which occurred on the 1100 block of W. St. Francis St. appears to have been a self-inflicted accidental shooting.
Four men were arrested and only charged with tampering with evidence with intent to impair a police investigation after Brownsville Fire Department crews recovered a handgun believed to have been removed from the scene.
Police say there are no signs of foul play and no other charges are pending.
The condition of the victim is unknown.
The investigation is ongoing.
