Police Say Vandals Cause $40K in Damages at Mercedes Livestock Show Grounds
MERCEDES – Mercedes police are investigating after vandals caused $40,000 in damages at the livestock show and rodeo grounds.
Event organizers say the crime could have a significant impact.
“The livestock show gives out $1.7 million in scholarship and premium money,” says Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show general manager D.J. Wernecke.
The livestock show board of directors is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
