PROGRESO – The Progreso Police Department released new information on a crash that claimed two lives.

The crash happened just after 6 p.m. Monday.

The police chief tells us the driver of a blue van crashed into the trailer.

The driver of the van, 25-year-old, Mark Anthony Hernandez and a passenger, 21-year-old David Mendoza died at the scene.

Authorities are waiting for the accident reconstruction team to figure out how the van ended up under the trailer.

The accident is still under investigation.
