Residents in Faysville Want Water Pumps to Alleviate Flooding
FAYSVILLE – Flood-prone neighborhoods in Faysville are in repair mode following recent heavy storms.
A resident tells CHANNEL 5 NEWS they’re waiting for a water pump to help alleviate the flood problems. They say a water pump was removed during a transition when Faysville was annexed from Hidalgo County to Edinburg.
KRGV’s Sierra Pizarro reached out to the city of Edinburg about the residents’ concerns.
“When there's heavy rain coming from McAllen, Mission area, those waters start to come into Edinburg. Although the rain might not be heavy here, it becomes an issue,” explains Mayor Pilar Richard Molina.
Molina says they’re looking into the issue.
