NEAR BROWNSVILLE – A blessing ceremony took place in Brownsville ahead of the shrimping season.
Boats and crews will be leaving the Brownsville Shrimp Basin this weekend. An estimated 150 participants took part in the Blessing of the Fleet on Tuesday.
The executive director of the Texas Shrimp Association says, however, a shortage U.S. citizen and foreign workers will cost the industry an estimated $700,000 per day this year.
