SANTA MONICA – The small town of Santa Monica was impacted after a body was recovered near a small cemetery.

The FBI is assisting in the investigation and an autopsy is underway.

The incident is a reminder of a similar case that occurred four years ago.

The area near Santa Monica was a crime scene in 2014 when a Border Patrol agent was killed while fishing with his family.

KRGV’s Christian von Preysing spoke with a local resident who was surprised to hear about the incident.
