BROWNSVILLE – Nearly 700 jobs are available in Brownsville days before shrimping season begins.
Shrimp boat owners tell CHANNEL 5 NEWS strict government regulations have prevented them from getting the visa foreign workers need.
KRGV’s Daisy Martinez spoke with the shrimpers about the impact they face working with reduced crews.
Alberto Ochoa, who co-owns 15 shrimp boats, explains how smaller crews means more money will have to be spent on freezers in order to store the shrimp.
