Top Democratic Senators Tour Valley Immigration Centers
MCALLEN - A week after the Vice President and republican lawmakers visited the Rio Grande Valley, top democratic senators toured immigration centers and facilities to get their own firsthand look at conditions.
The group of senators led by Minority Leader Chuck Schumer finished their tour in the McAllen Ursula Processing Center.
Senators said they are seeing results from the $4 billion Border Aid Bill passed by congress last month.
However senator Schumer says there is much more work to be done.
Senators also say there should be an emphasis on assisting the Northern Triangle countries, saying this will prevent people from wanting to go north.
