HARLINGEN – A scary experience on the expressway has a Rio Grande Valley driver seeking answers.

Many Valley drivers are familiar with cracked windshields, but one man says his mother felt the impact – on an entirely different place – on her sunroof.

When Lane Morris got the call from his mother on the side of expressway, he rushed to see if she was safe.

Morris explained it was almost as if the sunroof exploded.

A local collision shop owner says he’s seen it happen many times; pointing out on some vehicles, the glass on the sunroof is more sensitive than on the windshield.
