Valley Teacher Loses Job Following Suspension of Head Start Program

UPDATE (5/23): The employees who were let go because of the suspension may be eligible to get re-hired.

Staring Wednesday, the Department of Health and Human Services will hold a hiring fair for those teachers that were affected.

The fair will run until Friday.

WESLACO – A Rio Grande Valley teacher no longer has a job with Teaching and Mentoring Communities, and she’s not the only one.

The program was suspended effective Thursday.

The former teacher explains if they want their jobs back, they will have to be re-hired.
