WESLACO – Federal authorities are searching for a murder suspect they say fled into Mexico.

Police in Northbrook, Illinois issued an arrest warrant for 51-year-old John Panaligan for the 2016 death of a real estate attorney.

U.S. Marshals believe Panaligan fled to Mexico through Texas in January of this year.

Investigators said they’ve found evidence of money transfers from associates to Mexico.
